embroidered collar blouse fashion outfit flat lay from the high street

I had a little trouble putting this outfit together as I was thinking it was missing something, but after seeing it, it has come together well. I'm one of those people who loves to add everything to an outfit as I think it looks like you've put in the most effort, but I think sometimes being minimal can really help create more of an impact than if you just throw pieces together. I picture this outfit being worn to some sort of evening event; great food, great company, and a cocktail in your hand, bliss.

The top from Topshop is a plain black boxy shirt in a light fabric with a gorgeous nude coloured collar piece, embellished with white and pink beads. I think the collar has made such a plain shirt look so elegant and expensive; from something so simple. If you have a plain collared shirt lying around, I encourage you to go to your local haberdashery, buy some beads and sew away! I have paired it with a pair of shorts from ASOS which are in a rich red colour. They are high-waisted and have a double layer, which creates volume and a beautiful structure to the entire look. The shoes from ASOS are a pair of black suede flatforms. I really love these shoes, I think they work with pretty much any outfit and bring a sort of poise. As well as for the summer, this outfit will also look great with an oversized fur jacket and a pair of tights for those colder nights. I am really starting to like the well put together, minimal outfits.

The bag from M&S is a small tube wrist clutch in suede. It compliments the materials of the shoes and is the perfect size for your evening necessities. I have gone across the complete Barry M range when it comes to the nail paints; (l-r) White, Lychee in gelly, Vanilla in matte and Pink Silver Glitter. I think the colours of all these paints are just a great mix, and you can really create something beautiful with the different textures and finishes. The beautiful perfume bottle is Miss Dior by Christian Dior. It's got a fruity scent with mid notes of jasmine and rose. A real intense and playful feel, representing the qualities of a young women.

For the jewellery, I have chosen to stick with the pastel colours from the collar and go with gold; a range of bangles from River Island, and a stack of coloured rhinestone rings from ASOS. I haven't included a necklace as I didn't want to distract from the collar piece, but you could wear a long gold necklace with a small pendant. For the hair, I have added a large sequinned bow, which I think would look adorable if you clip it at the top of a sleek high pony, or incorporate it into an updo. You can also use a pearl headband to work alongside the collar.
