check collared summer dress fashion outfit flat lay from the high street

Welcome to the first 'Little White Wednesday' post. As it's the first, I thought I would do an outfit set that would best describe the typical 'Aycan look'. A dress worn with a pair of statement shoes, a satchel bag and completed with accessories.

The dress from River Island is a fit and flare style with an all over checked print and contrasting white collar. This is such a great simple summer piece and as the colours are neutral, you can accessorise with any colour palette, while also adding layers for the winter. I bought this bag a few years ago but the hard box style satchel is constantly on trend. It's called the 'Bianca bag' by Marc B and it comes in this beautiful dove colour with a faux snakeskin pocket panel at the front. The detachable strap gives you a choice on how to wear it; I have chosen without as I think it creates more of a statement when you use the handle. I love the combination between the matt dove and metallic gold detailing.

Now let's take a moment and just absorb the perfection of these sandals. I heard about these from everyone coming up to me saying, "Have you seen the new Dr Martens, you'll love them," and oh my god I fell in love and defiantly didn't become one of those weird people who strokes shoes every time they walk past... Ok, I was one of those people but I had given up shopping for lent so this was all I had, but as Easter Sunday came, the sandals were finally mine. They are part of the Dr Martens x Agyness Deyn collection. These do look a lot better with socks, (no I'm not just saying that it's true!!), so I have paired them with a pair of glittered white ankle socks.

To continue with the orange and blue theme, I have chosen two sets of nail paints from Barry M; a vivid palette (cobalt blue, block orange), and a pastel jelly palette (papaya and blueberry). One of my favourite scents has to be Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture. It has such a sweet, vanillary, floral scent and it is so uplifting, plus Juicy Couture always has the loveliest bottle designs, got to love the pink satin bow! The holographic book is a mini sketchbook by Fashionary. They produce a great range of sketchbooks designed especially for a fashion designer. I have recently bought some products from them and will be posting a review next week.

I have gone pretty simple with the accessories. Layering two necklaces, a shorter chain with a shooting star to bring colour, and a long chain with a little singer sewing machine and scissors. I didn't want to overload the outfit with too much orange and blue (though I do love those colours together), so I have brought in gold and blue bracelets and a gold watch. Gold isn't too far off an orange shade, plus it brings a bit of shine. The ring from Forever 21 is an open style ring with a pearl on one side and a flower on the other, so sweet and delicate and completely different to any of my other rings so I needed to buy it.
