This weather is doing such awful things to my skin, but don't worry, I have a magical solution. I usually have quite oily skin, but during the winter, my skin goes a little crazy and it becomes an oily to combination type. A product I've been using for a few months now is Avène's Cleanance Soapless Gel Cleanser, and it has done wonders to my skin. All of Avène's products are dedicated to sensitive skin, so you won't have to worry about any harsh chemicals. I've mentioned this before in my review of the Cleanance K Cream-Gel, but on their website you can fill out an online skin diagnosis test were you just answer a few questions about your skin type, and they will send you a few trial sized samples based around your answers. I only had to try the sample to know how well this product was working.

avene cleanance soapless gel cleanser and exfoliating hydrating cream-gel

I originally bought this cleanser as it's suited my oily blemish prone skin, but it's still helping now even though it's become a little dry. It's really mild and a soap-free gel, so it won't irritate your skin, but it still removes all make-up and oils, while helping your skin's pH levels to adjust back to it's natural balance. I absolutely love the smell! It's really refreshing and nothing too pungent or perfumed. This is a daily cleanser so you can use it both morning and night. Just apply it to a damp face, lather up and rinse away. It's got a really light texture, and a little bit really does go a long way. Once a week, I do treat my face to a scrub and use my Soap and Glory exfoliating brush. I work around my face in circular motions, giving an extra little scrub on those areas that tend to become drier, like around my nose. The brush can be quite harsh on the skin, so I wouldn't recommend using it daily. Even just after a single wash, your skin feels so refreshed, and feels it's given you a deep clean. I know this is a bad thing to admit, but I sometimes forget to use it for a day, or maybe even three, but my face still feels so clean and not oily at all. The product works perfectly along side the Cleanance K Exfoliating Hydrating Cream-Gel also from Avène.

VERDICT:

I'm always raving on about Avène, but their products are truly great. I feel this cleanser is slowly reducing the oiliness of my skin, so I am going to continue to use it and see if there is any dramatic changes. If you have oily skin, I'd definitely recommend this. If you are more oily/combination skin type, maybe only use it a few times a week, but make sure you use it along side a nourishing moisturiser.
