summer fashion outfit flat lay from the high street

I have realised that all my posts recently start off talking about the weather, so I don't see why this post should be any different. I'm actually quite glad the sun is here as a few people have been saying I'm looking a bit on the pale side. Not really my fault, I'm sun deprived. This weeks 'Little White Wednesday' is another outfit fit for your summer wardrobe. When I was putting this outfit together, I envisioned trekking to the top of Hollywood Hills just to take a photo of the sunset. One of my favourite parts of a holiday is being able to explore and find beautiful places to photograph. This outfit is the perfect holiday look ready for those summer adventures.

I've put together basic pieces which are easily interchangeable suited for a holiday wardrobe. The top from Dorothy Perkins is a plain white jersey piece with short capped sleeves and rounded neckline. I have paired this with a pair of ink blue shorts from Monki. The fabric of the shorts are a thick coated cotton, but still have some stretch to it, which creates a sort of moulded structure. I love the extra seams and the way they integrate with the front seam pockets, #FashionDesignProblems. The intense colours from the outfit make such a bold, block statement piece. The bag is a simple white box shoulder bag with a plaited strap and woven texture. The shoes from ASOS are a flat sandal with cut out detailing and yellow binding. The floral embroidery stands out against the black and makes a vivid piece. All these piece are able to be mixed with other pieces from your holiday wardrobe for day or night which is perfect for travelling light. To be honest, no matter how much I plan it, I always take way too much; sometimes you've got to pack extra pieces just incase you get a call from the Queen inviting you for dinner... It's better to be prepared then panic.

I have kept the accessories simple with a long chained necklace with whistle pendent from Betsey Johnson, and a blue bangle with gold tassels from River Island, which you can always wear as an arm cuff. I'm not a huge fan of ear-rings, but I have added a pair of small white heart studs. When it's the summer, I always tend to wear my hair in a high top bun, so I've added this floral garland again from River Island, to bring in some colour.

I always love things that are original, and with all the filters and camera add-ons you can now get, I have chosen to use an Lomography Fisheye camera to take photographs with. This was part of the Valentines Day collection and has the adorable 'i heart you' printed across the front and lens cap. The thing I love about film cameras is the authentic print, being able to experiment with different film qualities, and not knowing the result until they are developed. This is the perfect companion for those summer explorations, just don't forget the batteries! The perfume I have chosen is Ma Dame by Jean Paul Gaultier which has to be one of my favourite scent! It has this sort of playful, fun-loving, uplifting feel about it. The scent is fresh, sweet and floral, enriched with notes of orange, sparking roses, musk and with a hint of grenadine; literally all things that is summer. I have chosen a few accent colours from the shoes to highlight in the nail paint; (from l-r) Lemon Ice-cream, Bright pink and Mint green all from Barry M, and if you're like me, you'll be adding glitter too! They're all a beautiful pastel palette, and will work great along side the ink blue shorts.
